Being in the heart of a busy commercial district alongside some very large national employers the peace gardens positioned between two popular food outlets was always going to be a busy lunchtime location.
This area was a highly popular sunshine lunch break and coffee spot mecca for all to enjoy, until the popularity of skateboarding began to take hold of a certain type of urban landscape.
Having declined in appearance and popularity the Retail Park Management Company decided it was time to take charge and for the Peace Garden to regain its former glory.
The first task was to regain the appearance, this was delivered by Hot Washing all deeply ingrained wax that had built up over most edges and then to clean all walls and stone structures.
With no nonsense Prohibition notices erected and full floodlit lighting and CCTV cameras now in place to present a deterrent to further skateboarding, the Peace Gardens slowly regained its popularity.
It has been said that on a really hot day now it can be difficult to find a place just to sit.
